The Top 10 best carp fishing lines
1: NGT Carp and Coarse Fishing Line
Over time, you will find a line that is to your satisfaction, and as with many products, will probably stick with that brand as you are happy with its performance. It pays, however, to try out different lines before settling on the one you want, as there are surprising differences between some of them. This one, from NGT – who have a good range of fishing products – is a camo coloured line so will not be too visible in the water.
It’s a 0.2mm line that offers excellent resistance to abrasion, is easy to load and use, and comes in 8lb to 15lb forms so you have plenty of choice. All in all, it’s a good line from a known brand, and at between £6 and £8 is very good value.

We can’t stress too strongly how good NGT are when it comes to line, and at much less than a tenner these reels are very good value if a mono carp line is your thing.

How It Works
Before we go on to look in detail at the top 10 best choices on the market, here’s a brief explanation of the different types of line available.
Fluorocarbon This are the most common type of fishing line. Fluorocarbon consists of fluorine which is chemically bonded to carbon. This combination makes these lines heavier than the water which enables them to sink well.
