When all is said and done, the human body is a beautifully engineered machine with no equal. The sheer variety of processes it handles on a constant basis is bewildering, and it is no surprise that some areas of our bodies take more stress and strain than others.
Think for a moment about the feet; your feet could well be among the most over-worked parts of your body. They take your weight for long periods of time, they are part of your mobility system, and they have a very tough job keeping you up and able.
Don’t miss: Slippers for women
This is why feet are a constant source of medical problems, yet there are things you can do to make sure you keep yours as healthy as possible. Carefully-fitted footwear is always a sensible option, for example, and making sure that you always have the right sort of gear for the work you are doing.
It’s worth considering that the feet consist of an array of small and delicate bones – 26 in fact – plus a wealth of muscles and, thanks to the joints involved, more than 100 ligaments. It’s easy to see, then, how easily feet can become damaged and, as a result, painful.
Why is a foot spa helpful? We’ll have a look in more detail at what a foot spa does in just a moment, but put simply, by using warm water and a massage treatment, a foot spa can indeed help keep feet healthy and also soothe other problems that may come with tired and worn feet.

Best Foot Spa’s
1: Sensio Foot Spa Massager
First on our list is this very neat and typical model from Sensio, who have a range of products of this type to look at. It’s well-made, of a high quality and very popular, and comes with favourable customer comments regarding its effectiveness. However, although it does have a heat function within, that is only to heat the platform beneath your feet; it cannot heat the water, which needs to be suitably warm when added.
This model offers a variable speed massage function, plus you can control the bubbles and the way they circulate, and it comes with fully removable massage heads and rollers so you can vary your experience as and when you wish. One nice touch with this one is that it is supplied with a full pedicure set – including a file, brush and more – and it also has a 60-day money-back guarantee, and a long warranty for added peace of mind. A good foot spa, worth adding to the short list.
- Heated platform
- Fully variable speeds
- Removeable rollers
- Pedicure set
2: Revlon Pediprep
One of the world’s biggest names in beauty products, Revlon is a brand to be reckoned with when it comes to items such as this. A standard form of foot spa, this one offers some excellent functions and is a very neat and usable design that has favourable comments from users. Once again, the item does not heat the water – you have to add your own hot water to the unit – but it does offer fully adjustable flow and bubbles.
This is a nicely made unit that comes with the added benefit of the Revlon name, and one that is worth adding to the shortlist. It also features an additional pumice stone which is great for removing dead skin, and is also equipped with a handy 9-piece pedicure set that includes everything you could possibly need for a good end of the day foot massage! Given the brand, and the price, we reckon this is one to consider.
- Revlon brand
- Fully variable
- Pumice stone
- Full pedicure set
3: Hangsun Foot Spa FM200
This model appeals to us as it offers some more comprehensive features than some of the others, and as such is well worth a second look. This one is made from very high quality material that is designed to stand the test of time, and comes with a variety of functions. This includes the standard water massage, vibration massage and infra-red heat treatment. It has four heat heads for added effectiveness, and owners speak highly of its effectiveness.
This one is designed with non-slip rubber feet and has an anti-splash design too, it comes with a heater that can keep the water at a temperature that is desirable to you – something the above pair cannot do – and you can adjust all the functions as you want them. It also has a nice handle design so you can move it around easily, and it is very compact and simple to use. It may be a little more expensive than some, but this is one is very good indeed, and we would certainly put it on a shortlist.
- Heater
- Many functions
4: Rio Deluxe Foot Bath
Another impressive model with some interesting features, this one comes with water heating, which we feel may be a prerequisite for the best foot spas and massagers. After all, water will only stay warm for a short period, so you will need to replenish if you have one that does not incorporate a heater. This one has five functions that you can use to enjoy the very best foot spa and massage, so it’s certainly worth a closer look.
You can use the usual bubble system to get the massage treatment you want, it also has a jet system, and there are several rollers incorporated into the sturdy and well-made design that make it a cut above some. It has LED’s to tell you when you are at the right heat and it is working properly, and it also comes with a handy carry handle for ease of movement. Overall, we think this one is a very neat design at a sensible price, and one that you should take a second look at.
- LED’s
- Carry handle
- All the functions
5: Livivo Deluxe Foot Spa
This is another that we like because it is multi-functional, and it is also very sensibly-priced. It has an infra-red heat function that is very useful indeed and that will help keep the warm water at a sensible temperature, plus it can also offer the usual vibration massage feature and bubbles. There are three settings for massage purposes, and it works nicely in each of them, so you can choose how you want to soothe your feet at the end of a long and arduous day.
If there’s one downside of this one, and this comes from customer reviews, it is that it can be noisy, and it does appear to be rather flimsy in construction when compared to some of the others on our list. However, we do like it, not least because it does what it says it will do, and although it does not have speed controls like some of the others, if you want a basic and simple foot massager and spa this could be the one at a rather cheap price.
- Simple
- Three functions
- Keeps water warm
6: Beurer FB50 Luxury
There are a few of these models – this being one – that include magnets for what is known as magnetic field therapy. Now, it is widely believed that magnets have therapeutic qualities but is in no way proven, so we recommend you check it out first as you will pay more for models such as this. There are sixteen magnets incorporated in this one, and it will cost you considerably more than some on this list. Having said that it is very good, well made, and clearly a quality item.
It comes with various changeable massage attachments, powerful water heaters, infrared heat pads and more, and is usable and effective. It also has a variety of pedicure attachments that are a welcome added feature, so you do get some semblance of value for money with this one, although we recommend you check it out in detail if you decide it might be the one that you go for, if only for the added cost.
- Advanced features
- Magnets
- All the functions
- Pedicure fitments
7: HoMedics Foldaway Massager Spa
This is a very clever design in that it can be folded down into a very compact package for storage and transport, and as such it is one that we feel is well worth adding to your shortlist. It also includes special nodes to accentuate the acupuncture points – a manufacturer claim – and offers you the usual massage by water jets and bubbles. It’s usable with bath salts, and can fit up to size 12’s, which most of these are designed for.
This one is nicely designed and we feel it is a quality, item, yet it lacks somewhat in functions when compared to some of these. However, it does keep the water warm, which is important for many people, and it is easy to use and compact. When you are putting a shortlist together, if the size of one of these is important then this should be on it, but otherwise we’re not too sure – though the choice is yours!
- Portable
- Heats water
8: Beurer Massage Station
This is another model that offers you the added benefit, if you wish, of magnetic therapy. This one is somewhat less expensive than the one featured above (from the same manufacturer) so if you are considering one with magnets, this could be the one. There are sixteen magnets incorporated in this one, and it is very good, well made, and clearly a quality item. It’s up to you whether you want one with magnets, after all.
- Magnets
- Pedicure fitments
9: BDUK Deluxe Foot Spa
Having looked at so many of these it soon becomes clear that there is a simple premise for each of them – they need to provide a massage function for the feet, with bubble therapy and various other features. This one, like some but unlike others, comes with a heat function that means your warm water stays warm for longer, and we think this is a very important feature if you are to get the very best out of your foot spa.
There are three main functions with this one: it has infrared heat function, offers you vibration treatment, and also comes with effervescent bubble massage, and it is these three that make up the main features of one of these machines overall. It is designed with a splashguard so you don’t get water all over the place, and it is a nicely-made device all-round, so we have no hesitation in recommending it for the shortlist, especially at what is a sensible price.
- Splash guard
- 3-functions
- Water heater
- Bubbles
10: Palson Foot Spa with Massage
Our final choice is another entirely typical model, and also within the standard price range that these tend to come within, and as such it is a fitting bookend to this review. Like many of these, there is nothing special about this one, but it is a very neat design that offers a great number of interesting features given the price. It’s a standard model with the three usual functions – vibrate, infrared and bubbles for massage – and it is also a suitably compact model that is easy to move around and store away.
You do get pedicure accessories with this one, including revolving balls for massage and an acupuncture fitment, and it is surprisingly effective. Customer reviews are also favourable, and it has a powerful heater so your warm water will remain warm for as long as you wish. In short, this is a very typical foot spa and massager that comes at a sensible price, so is worth checking out.
- Water heater
- Infra-red
- Bubbles
- Vibration
That’s our list of the 10 best foot spas on the market today, but which is for you? That depends upon what you are looking for, but before we go on to give you a verdict let’s have a look at some of the features you need to consider before you buy one of these.
Important Features to Look For
As our reviews have proven, there are a few basic functions that a foot spa and massager needs to provide; these are, in short, a vibration mode, bubble production, and an infra-red heat function for added warmth and health benefits.
As all of the above have these functions, we’ve listed a few additional possibilities that you might want to look for when you make your decision.
Heater – not all with the infra-red feature keep the water warm. Some have an additional heater function for this purpose, and we think it is a very important selling point as you get more use out of one with a heater.
Speed Adjustment- some of the above come with variable speeds for the bubbles and – where they have them – water jets, so check in advance if this is something you want with your foot spa.
Magnets – magnet therapy is an area of massage that is often disputed, yet there are people who believe in its benefits. Only a couple of those listed have magnets incorporated, so if this is a function you want then you need to choose your foot spa carefully.
Size – as with all items that are going to be used occasionally it is helpful if you can find one that is compact in size and easy to move around. Some on the list are more so than others, so check carefully for the best options.
That’s about it for our list of things to consider when buying a foot spa and massager, so which one is for you? Let’s see if we can wrap it up!
How It Works
What is a foot spa? Essentially, it is a shaped bowl into which you put your feet, with either warm or cold water, that then adds movement to provide a massage effect. It’s gentle, safe and tried and tested, and many of the principles have their roots in ancient Chinese medicine.
Some have jets that shoot warm water at you, others use different methods, and many offer the favoured shiatzu method of massage, which is a very long-established Eastern method that has proven and satisfying results.
Foot spas can improve circulation – a very important part of the effective operation of the feet – and are also used by many people as a stress-relieving device. This has benefits in mental health as well as physical, so is an added bonus.
A foot massage can also be used to reduce blood pressure, which has further calming effects, and all of these added effects can lead to better sleep patterns and a less stressful life overall.
Many people use a foot spa with essential oils, much as you would a bath, and this is a popular way of ending a day in which you have been on your feet all day. There are, then, many reasons why you might want to consider buying one of these inexpensive yet very usable devices.
That’s just a few reasons why people use a foot spa, and you may have heard of many more. Are you interested to learn more? We took a close look at 10 of the very best foot spas you can buy right now, and we reckon that among the list that follows will be one that fits the bill for you.

Let’s Wrap It Up!
As we have reviewed ten of the best foot spas on the market, there is bound to be one that is right for you, but which will it be?
To be fair, it’s a very hard category in which to pick one above others, as each offers the three primary functions of a foot spa. So, we’re looking for those that offer something extra? Not necessarily, as that extra may not be something you use on a regular basis.
For example, if you want magnets, you should pick either of the Beurer models – we recommend the cheaper one – but this may not be important to you.
If you are looking for a simple, usable and effective foot spa with the main functions, we can recommend that you look at the HoMedics model, number 7 on the list, as it not only offers the simple functions but is also a clever folding design so is very compact when not in use.
Having said that, the first two on the list come at sensible prices and include pedicure sets, but they don’t heat the water so you may want to look elsewhere.
The bottom line is this: each of those listed is a decent foot massager that will do the job it is intended for, so read through again, compare the features, and choose the one that is right for you at the price.
