The summer – that season when, in the UK, we rejoice over the promise of a few beautiful sunny days, and complain about how it’s too warm after 48hours. We’re just not used to it, are we? It’s alien, that orange ball in the sky! Yet, every year, millions of us leave the country seeking the sun, queuing at the airport for hours to get to our favourite resorts in Spain, or even further afield, and coming home tanned – or more likely burned – and refreshed for the dreaded back to work day.
Don’t miss: Top 10 foot spas
Of course, it’s not really as bad as that, and it does give the lovely ladies of the UK the chance to show off their figure on the beach in their favourite bikini. Which brings us neatly to today’s topic: the best bikini trimmer. Now, we know that our discerning girls don’t only use these neat and very useful devices when it’s bikini time: they want to keep their, well, private and intimate area neat and tidy throughout the year! But it’s the bikini season that brings the biggest pressure to look and feel the part, so you’ll always find one of these in your holiday luggage.
The ten we have chosen for this review all follow a similar theme, and each would be perfectly suitable for taking on holiday, wherever you might be heading. Or they are suitable as a permanent fixture in the bathroom, for keeping your bikini line neatly trimmed and presentable (that is, if you wish to present it!) These are affordable items, too, and we have included a selection from some of the best-known brands in the market. So, before we go on to give you a round-up of the top ten best bikini trimmers, let’s talk about what they do, and how they do it!
Best Bikini Trimmers (Our Top 10 Picks)
1: Philips BRT383/15
That’s the official name of this one from the electronics giant Philips – one of the biggest names in the business – but it also goes by the snappier title of BikiniGenie, which we rather like. Philips has a well-deserved reputation for quality products, and this is no exception. It’s finished in an attractive, feminine colour scheme of purple and white, is compact and easy to use, and comes with some interesting features which make it rather versatile and worth a second look for your shortlist.
This one is battery operated, so is very versatile, it is fully waterproof for use in the shower and the standard trimming head has settings down to as little as 0.5mm. If you want a clean shave, there is a second head that will achieve this easily. It also comes with a comb attachment for 3mm or 5mm lengths. You get a washable device for added hygiene, and it is very nice to use in all. We like the narrow head that allows for comprehensive use, and at less than £25 we think this quality item is sensible money.
- Philips
- Neat design
- Various heads
- Slim and versatile
- None that we can see
2: Remington BKT4000
This is another name brand, and Remington made its name in the field of men’s shaving equipment before moving into the women’s market. It’s a neat and simple design in the usual style, and is easy to hold and use. We don’t know why they bother with such numerical names, however: BikiniGenie is so much better! Anyway, what is special about this one? Well, to be honest, nothing in particular, but that’s no bad thing: these devices are designed for a certain purpose, and this one achieves it very well.
You get the usual Remington quality, of course, and it is a rechargeable cordless model for the best in versatility. It uses comfortable comb technology so it can cut down to 0.2mm – but is not suitable for a full shave – and it works very well. You get two comb heads for added hygiene, and the device is fully waterproof and suitable for use in the shower. All in all, it’s perfectly decent, but we feel the Philips above gives a little bit more. Nevertheless, at under £20, it’s good value.
- Remington
- Quality
- Good price
- Rechargeable
- Not as full-featured as the Philips, but good value
3: Veet Sensitive Beauty Styler
Veet is a brand that has a certain resonance when it comes to women’s beauty products, as they have an excellent range that covers all the requirements. The difference with this device is that it is not electronic; it is a simple item with a variety of cutting blades and heads – seven accessories in fact – but is not designed for a full shave, more for emergency touch ups and last-minute detailing. It does do the job, however, so is certainly worthy of inclusion on this list.
This is a device with safety built-in as the cutting blades never touch the skin, and it is very narrow for precise use. It’s also recommended for use on eyebrows and other precision hair trimming, so is a useful item for dropping in your handbag on a night out. You get various parts such as two combs and a dedicated bikini head, and it does a full complement of beauty trimming jobs with ease. Is it worth a second look? Definitely, as it is a very useful item for occasional use, and at around £15 is a neat addition to your beauty equipment.

- Plenty heads
- Easy to use
- Precise
- Not powered, not as versatile as some others

You get two heads – one for the bikini cut and one for short hair – and it can be gift wrapped if you want so might make an excellent present for someone. At around £15, however, it is very good value.
