The models we have reviewed so far all feature standing operation; you position yourself on the two footrests, and away you go. This one, from iNMotion, is the same; it can be operated using a smartphone app – with which you can set your speed and such – and comes with some interesting innovations. This one has a front and rear light, the rear one doubling as a brake light, and is made from very strong materials to a high standard of build quality.
This model can take you up to 25km/h; that is very fast, believe us, on a device of this sort! It weighs less that 12kg so is easy to transport, and is suitably compact, and it will take 3-hours to get to full charge on the battery. With a 550W motor, you will get as much as 30km from a full charge. The 14-inch wheels are larger than on some models and aid balance, while the 18-degree tilt angle is perfectly standard. All in all, a very nice unicycle, if you are prepared to pay a little more for some innovative touches.

We have already looked at a couple from the Airwave range, and this one – the Q6 Ultimate – is another of the twin-wheel design that has become their forte. It’s a very neat model that comes with some fun additions such as LED lights and a handy kickstand, and its made with the usual high-quality attention to detail that you expect from the brand. Easy to ride and simple to learn how to use, this is one that will be fun for all the family.
This model comes with a more powerful motor than the Q3 models we have already reviewed, and is superbly designed give great commuting capability and ease of use. The simple operation of the Airwheel range is part of the appeal, and one of the reasons why this is among the most popular of this type of device on the market today. It’s great for when walking the dogs, going to the shops, or just having fun, and is a great price compared to some of the competition.

6: Wheelo Scooter Unicycle
Now for something very different! This unicycle, from Wheelo, is a brilliant design, but before we tell you about it, be aware it is much more expensive than many others on this list. That’s because, by and large, it’s a very impressive model with some fine innovations – not least the fact you sit down to drive it. It is built to a very high quality, is superbly designed, and while you can accelerate and brake by moving your body forwards or backwards slightly, it also comes with a very handy manual brake on the handlebar.
Using the Bluetooth link you can control several aspects of the unicycle via your smartphone, including driving position, and it is powerful enough to climb hills with ease. A powerful motor gives it more than capable speed, but perhaps the most impressive aspect is a full charge can take you as far as 50km – that’s a useful range indeed. This is a quality machine that is, in many ways, in a different class from some of the others on the list, but it is also in a notably different price bracket, too.

It’s recommended for children of 7-years and upwards, and cleverly comes with a set of stabilisers so that they can practice balancing before going to one-wheel use. That’s not to say it’s not for adults – it’s perfectly usable by anyone – but there are more serious models with better performance that might suit and appeal to older users.
You get a very nicely-built unicycle with all the usual features, plus it weighs just 10kg and is very compact in size, so is easy to transport. It’s easy to ride – you’ll be on one wheel before you know it – and offers a range of around 20km. Top speed is just 7km/h, which is ideal for kids but will leave adult users wanting something more. Nevertheless, it’s good, and is a quality item, although we feel there are perhaps better models to consider at a similar price.
